About Rock Kids
'Rock Kids’ is our more advanced climbing class for 3 - 6 year (children as young as 2 our welcome, if accompanying an older sibling). It is a step up from ‘Rock Tots’, focusing more on skill based tasks and games.
Accompanying adults will need to have completed a supervisory induction first. If you have not been to our centres before, a supervisory induction (completed before your first session) is included in the cost.
Support for parents new to the session is a vital part of Rock Tots. Teaching them how best to support their little climbers will give them important knowledge about how best to keep their children safe and build confidence in the climbing wall environment. We want parents to celebrate their child’s climbing skills rather than stifle it, due to their own fears.
You will be a key part of each session, helping your child learn the skills needed to become a young climber. You will be given tips and advice about how best to support and coach your child with their climbing.
Sessions include warm up games, instructed climbing with skills-based tasks and skills-based games.
Supervision: Each supervising adult can supervise a maximum of two children attending the session.
If you’ve not visited us before, you’ll need to attend a safety induction and become a member of the centre. There is often one before the class starts but please contact the centre, because you will need to book on for it. This will save time on the day and ensures there is a place for your child, as we have a limited number of places per session, so may occasionally be full. It will also save you £1 per session and can be done up to 9:30 am on the morning of the session.
You can join any point throughout the rolling programme, so you can start mid term if you wish. .
